The International Bowling Federation has established a complete set of regulations and competition rules. These regulations and rules not only need to be learned and mastered by referees, but also by athletes.
1. Bowling is scored and the winner is determined by the number of knocked down balls in a game. A game is divided into 10 rounds, with two opportunities to pitch in each round. If in a round, the first shot knocks down all 10 bottles, that is, all hits, then the second shot cannot be made. The only difference is in the 10th round. If you hit all the pitches in the first round, you still have to continue shooting the last two pitches; If it’s a fill in, you need to continue shooting the last ball to end the overall game. It is worth emphasizing that if two pitches fail to knock down all 10 bottles, the third chance will be automatically cancelled.
2. The number of passes in the competition is determined by drawing lots. Each game is played on an adjacent pair of lanes, and the lanes are swapped in each round until the global end. In the second game, players need to switch lanes, with odd numbered players moving to the left and even numbered players moving to the right. Sometimes it is also possible to move the lane to the right uniformly, in order to ensure that every player can meet and have equal opportunities. The order of pitching is based on the order of A, B, and C drawn.
During bowling matches, the ranking is determined by the cumulative total score of 6 innings.
(1) Single player competition: The results of each round are added up, and the one with the highest total score of 6 rounds is the champion, the second place is the runner up, and the third place is the third place.
(2) Doubles match: Each player has 6 games, and the ranking is determined by the total score of 12 games between the two players.
(3) Three person competition: Each person has 6 games, and the ranking is determined by the total score of 18 games for a total of three people.
(4) Five player competition: Each player has 6 games, and the ranking is determined by the total score of 30 games for a total of five players.
(5) All round competition: The overall ranking of the all-around competition is determined by the total score of 24 rounds per person.
(6) Elite Tournament: Through the first four competitions mentioned above, the top 16 players with a total score of 24 games will participate in the semifinals. After completing 15 games in a single round, the top 4 players with a total score of 15 games will participate in the challenge tournament. The fourth place against the third place is the first challenge; The winner versus second place is the second challenge, and the match between the winner and first place is called the final. The winner who wins two consecutive games is the champion, and the winner who loses two consecutive games is the runner up. The one with a high total score in one win and one loss is the champion, and the one with a low total score in one win and one loss is the runner up. If the total scores of the two games are the same, it depends on the results of both sides in the ninth and tenth rounds, and the one with the higher score wins the championship.
